Terms of Service

By accessing and using Chronobill ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Chronobill. Please read them carefully.

Chronobill is a time tracking and invoicing tool designed for freelancers, contractors, and small businesses.

All paid accounts include:

• Unlimited time tracking
• Unlimited clients and projects
• Unlimited invoices
• 16 smart business alerts
• 3-click invoice generation
• Professional invoice templates
• Multi-currency support
• Data export

To use Chronobill, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Use a strong, unique password
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at security@chronobill.app
• Be responsible for all activity on your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

You agree to use Chronobill only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal purposes or to facilitate illegal activity
• Send fraudulent, misleading, or spam invoices
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the Service
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Overload our systems with automated requests
• Scrape or harvest data from the Service
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

You own all data you create in Chronobill, including:

• Time entries
• Client and project information
• Invoices
• Business settings

We will never sell your data to third parties. You can export your data anytime in CSV format. Upon account deletion, we permanently delete your data within 30 days (except where legally required to retain it).

Chronobill provides tools to create and send invoices. You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of invoice content, amounts, and descriptions
• Tax calculations and VAT/sales tax compliance
• Compliance with local invoicing, tax, and accounting regulations
• Maintaining proper records for your jurisdiction
• Any disputes with your clients regarding invoices

Chronobill is not:

• An accounting service
• A tax advisor
• A legal service

We do not verify the accuracy of your invoices or provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. Consult qualified professionals for such matters.

We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance (we aim to notify users in advance)
• Unplanned outages or technical issues
• Factors beyond our control

We are not liable for any losses, damages, or missed deadlines resulting from service interruptions. For critical invoicing deadlines, we recommend maintaining backup processes.

Chronobill and its original content, features, functionality, branding, and design are owned by us and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our software
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Remove any proprietary notices

You retain all intellectual property rights to the content you create (invoices, client data, etc.).

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Chronobill is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not liable for lost revenue, profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill
• Our maximum aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for third-party services (Stripe, Supabase, email providers, etc.)

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain damages. In such cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chronobill and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Invoices you create or send through the Service
• Any dispute between you and your clients

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time.

• Minor changes: Updated on this page with new "Last updated" date
• Significant changes: Email notification at least 30 days before changes take effect

Your continued use of Chronobill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before the changes take effect.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Chronobill regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
